Semax dosage calculator
In a 10 mg vial with 2 mL of water (5 mg/mL), 300 mcg of Semax is 6 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. Semax figures run from a few hundred micrograms to a few thousand, so the unit mark changes a lot with the water you add. Enter your vial and water to see it.

About Semax
Semax (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) is a synthetic analogue of the ACTH(4-7) fragment with a Pro-Gly-Pro tail. It is an approved drug in Russia and Ukraine as a nasal solution. In the US and EU it is unapproved and vials are sold for research use only.
For adults, the Russian label for 0.1% nasal drops gives a single dose of 200 to 2000 mcg and 500 to 5000 mcg a day for 3 to 5 days, extendable to 14. Research-community figures are lower and are community-reported, with no trial cited: 300 mcg once daily, 600 mcg (once, or split 300 and 300), and 900 mcg split across the day, intranasally, and 200 to 400 mcg per injection when injected subcutaneously. A 10 mg vial with 2 mL of water is 5,000 mcg/mL, so 300 mcg is 0.06 mL, or 6 units, and 600 mcg is 12 units. The calculator converts a dose you choose; it does not suggest one.
The same 10 mg vial at other water volumes
If the draw is awkward to read, change the water, not the dose. The dose stays the same; only the mark moves.
| Vial | BAC water | Concentration | Draw | U-100 units | Doses/vial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 mg | 1 mL | 10 mg/mL | 0.03 mL | 3 units | 33 |
| 10 mg | 2 mL | 5 mg/mL | 0.06 mL | 6 units | 33 |
| 10 mg | 3 mL | 3.33 mg/mL | 0.09 mL | 9 units | 33 |
All rows above assume a 300 mcg dose and a standard U-100 insulin syringe, where 100 units = 1 mL.
How long it lasts in the body
Not well characterised in humans. A decay curve is only drawn where a human half-life is documented, so there is none here. Treat any precise figure for Semax elsewhere with caution.
Common questions
- How many units is 300 mcg of Semax?
- It depends entirely on how much water you added. In a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL, the concentration is 5 mg/mL, so 300 mcg is 0.06 mL, which is 6 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. In the same vial with 1 mL of water it is 3 units, and with 3 mL it is 9 units.
- How much bacteriostatic water for a 10 mg Semax vial?
- 2 mL is the usual choice. It gives 5 mg/mL, which puts the commonly reported range of 200 mcg to 2000 mcg between roughly 4 and 40 units. Aim for a draw between about 10 and 50 units, where the barrel is easiest to read, and add or remove water to get there.
- How many doses are in a 10 mg vial?
- Divide 10 by your dose. At 300 mcg that is 33 doses, which at once daily is 33 days.
- How many units is 300 mcg of Semax?
- In a 10 mg vial with 2 mL of water, 6 units on a U-100 syringe. With 1 mL of water it is 3 units, and with 4 mL it is 12 units.
- What does the Semax label say?
- The Russian label for 0.1% nasal drops (1 mg per mL) gives adults a single dose of 200 to 2000 mcg, and 500 to 5000 mcg a day for 3 to 5 days, extendable to 14. The figures reported in research communities are lower and are not from a trial.
