About Glutathione
Glutathione is a tripeptide (glutamate, cysteine, glycine) and the body's main intracellular antioxidant. Injectable glutathione is widely used in clinics, usually intravenously, and is also sold as a lyophilised powder or a pre-made 200 mg/mL solution for subcutaneous or intramuscular use. It is not an approved injectable medicine for general use.
The doses are large. A 600 mg vial with 3 mL of water is 200 mg/mL, so 200 mg is 1 mL, a full insulin syringe. If your vial came already in solution at 200 mg/mL, enter 600 mg and 3 mL to describe it, or whatever the label states. Reported doses are 200 to 600 mg, two or three times a week.

If the draw is awkward to read, change the water, not the dose. The dose stays the same; only the mark moves.

How long it lasts in the body
Very short in plasma; measured in minutes after intravenous dosing. A decay curve is only drawn where a human half-life is documented, so there is none here. Treat any precise figure for Glutathione elsewhere with caution.
Common questions
- How many units is 200 mg of Glutathione?
- It depends entirely on how much water you added. In a 600 mg vial reconstituted with 3 mL, the concentration is 200 mg/mL, so 200 mg is 1 mL, which is 100 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. In the same vial with 1.5 mL of water it is 50 units, and with 4.5 mL it is 150 units.
- How much bacteriostatic water for a 600 mg Glutathione vial?
- 3 mL is the usual choice. It gives 200 mg/mL, which puts the commonly reported range of 100 mg to 600 mg between roughly 50 and 300 units. Aim for a draw between about 10 and 50 units, where the barrel is easiest to read, and add or remove water to get there.
- How many doses are in a 600 mg vial?
- Divide 600 by your dose. At 200 mg that is 3 doses, which at three times a week is 7 days.
- How many units is 200 mg of glutathione?
- At 200 mg/mL, which is a 600 mg vial in 3 mL, 200 mg is 1 mL, or 100 units, a full syringe. Larger doses need a larger syringe or a second injection.
