About AOD-9604

AOD-9604 is a modified fragment of the C-terminal end of human growth hormone (amino acids 176 to 191), studied for fat metabolism without the growth-promoting effects of the full hormone. It reached late-stage trials for obesity and did not meet its endpoints. It is not an approved medicine and is sold for research.

A 5 mg vial holds 5,000 mcg. With 2 mL of water it is 2,500 mcg/mL, so 300 mcg is 0.12 mL, or 12 units. Reported protocols cluster at 250 to 300 mcg once daily.

Not well characterised in humans. A decay curve is only drawn where a human half-life is documented, so there is none here. Treat any precise figure for AOD-9604 elsewhere with caution.

How many units is 300 mcg of AOD-9604?
It depends entirely on how much water you added. In a 5 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL, the concentration is 2.5 mg/mL, so 300 mcg is 0.12 mL, which is 12 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. In the same vial with 1 mL of water it is 6 units, and with 3 mL it is 18 units.
How much bacteriostatic water for a 5 mg AOD-9604 vial?
2 mL is the usual choice. It gives 2.5 mg/mL, which puts the commonly reported range of 200 mcg to 500 mcg between roughly 8 and 20 units. Aim for a draw between about 10 and 50 units, where the barrel is easiest to read, and add or remove water to get there.
How many doses are in a 5 mg vial?
Divide 5 by your dose. At 300 mcg that is 16 doses, which at once daily is 16 days.
